Sexual Trauma Response Team (STRT)

The Sexual Trauma Response Team (STRT) provides services to primary and secondary victims of sexual trauma in Walton County. Victims can access these services through Shelter House's 24-hour hotline number: 1-800-44-ABUSE. TTY: 1-800-621-4202. Services provided through STRT include:

  1. Emotional Support/Crisis Intervention.

  2. Attendance with victim during exam as support.

  3. Emotional Support/Crisis Intervention with family and friends at hospital.

  4. Follow-up with victim and members of their support system.

  5. Referrals:  Medical/Therapy and other community agencies.

  6. Attend depositions at victim's request and approval of State Attorney's office.

  7. Attend court proceedings.

  8. Continual follow-up with victim as long as they request services.

 

Other Services include:
  1. Respond to victims of attempted assault.

  2. Respond to victims who do not want to report the crime.

  3. Respond to victims of past sexual assault.
