24-hour Domestic Violence Hotline Training Course
Area – Shelter House, Inc. is holding its three day, twenty-four hour Core Competency Training Course for volunteers interested in staffing our confidential Hotline. Volunteers will complete the 24 hours of Core Competency Training before receiving their certificate and staffing the hotline. Volunteers will be trained to assist victims of domestic violence to stay safe, provide guidance to concerned friends, family, and co-workers, make referrals to appropriate agencies, and field a variety of other inquiries.
This quarter’s course will be held at the Shelter House, Inc. Program Office, located at 102 Buck Dr., Building B. The date and times are:
August 12, 2006 Saturday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
August 19, 2006 Saturday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
August 26, 2006 Saturday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Shelter House, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization serving the victims and survivors of domestic violence and their children throughout Okaloosa and Walton Counties. Shelter House provides confidential emergency shelter, a 24-hour Hotline, outreach and crisis counseling, and referral services, while promoting prevention through education and advocacy.
